Summary and reflection

Summary:
We started the project during the first week of the 2 week break.

We commenced the project by keying in all the opening balances into SAGE ACCPAC. During the process, we had some difficulties; the part on clearing accounts and debtors/credit. Thank god we managed to solve that problem during one of our meetings.

On the second day, I would say it's one of the less productive days, at least for me. haha. Joanne, Jin Jin and I did the double entries for the source documents, whereas Cai Xin and Sharmilah focused on the theory part. So the 3 of us recorded down the double entry of the source documents on the hardcopy provided in vbus before keying them into SAGE ACCPAC. However, due to my carelessness, I lost my thumbdrive. What the 3 of us did on that day disappeared. :( Thank god my lost thumbdrive didn't affect the progress of the project because we had to do that part over again due to some errors.

The following project meetings consisted on working on the AR ledger, AP ledger, etc.

On the second last project meeting, all of us did the manual data entry forms. We split up the job, so it was a lot faster.

And on the last project meeting, the ACCPAC reports were ready for printing already, so we printed the required reports. At that point, I felt really relieved, because that indicated that the project was coming to an end. (:

Reflection:
This project is a tedious & challenging, but it was definitely beneficial to us.

We faced with some problems during this process, but the main ones were the availability of the labs and the timing. Since there were only 2 labs that has SAGE ACCPAC and these labs are not always available, it is not easy for us to do our work especially during school days. Moreover, Since all of us have different timetables and commitments, it can be quite difficult for all five of us to meet at the same time.

2 more days to the submission of the project.
We're almost done with the project; we've printed out the reports, now we're left with the theory part. Hopefully we'll be able to finish everything by tomorrow. (:
